Eliana Alves Cruz é escritora, roteirista e jornalista. Água de barrela (Malê, 2018), seu romance de estreia, ganhou o Prêmio Oliveira Silveira de 2015, da Fundação Cultural Palmares/Ministério da Cultura, e recebeu menção honrosa do Prêmio Thomas Skidmore, do Arquivo Nacional e da universidade americana Brown University. Seu segundo romance, O crime do cais do Valongo (Malê, 2018), foi escolhido como um dos melhores livros do ano pelos críticos do jornal O Globo e foi semifinalista do Prêmio Oceanos. O romance Nada digo de ti, que em ti não veja (Pallas, 2020) foi premiado pela União Brasileira de Escritores, e o livro A vestida: contos (Malê, 2022) foi ganhador do Prêmio Jabuti na categoria Contos. Seu romance mais recente é Solitária (Companhia das Letras, 2022).
