Inès de la Fressange nasceu no dia 11 de agosto de 1957, em Saint-Tropez, na França. De família aristocrata, ela é uma mistura franco-argentina de pai francês e mãe argentina. Na década de 80, foi modelo exclusiva da Chanel, e manteve uma amizade com Karl Lagerfeld, com quem, alguns anos depois, cortou relações. Foi jornalista da Marie Claire, entre outras revistas referência de moda. Atualmente, Inès é mulher de negócios, dona de uma rede de lojas de roupas. É designer de moda e consultora de Jean-Paul Gaultier.
