ALEKSANDAR HEMON

Aleksandar Hemon nasceu em Sarajevo, então Iugoslávia, em 1964. Mudou-se para os Estados Unidos 28 anos depois, tornando-se colaborador de veículos como New Yorker, Esquire e Paris Review. Desde seus primeiros romances E o Bruno?(2000) e As fantasias de Pronek (2009), Hemon volta-se para os anseios vividos pelo homem em situações de exílio forçado. Em O projeto Lazarus – eleita a melhor obra de ficção de 2008 pela New Yorker e finalista do National Book Award – incorpora à própria estrutura narrativa a questão da relação entre ficção, história e imigração, numa trama que intervém criticamente no debate político contemporâneo. Seu último livro, The book of my lives (2013), é uma ode às cidades de Sarajevo e Chicago.
