Também escreve para o Independent on Sunday e outras publicações. Locutora, escreve e apresenta um programa na BBC Radio 4 e é autora de três livros, incluindo The Human Voice (2007). Karpf é professora adjunta de redação profissional e pesquisa cultural na London Metropolitan University.
