GERTRUDE STEIN

Gertrude Stein nasceu em 1874 em Allegheny, Pensilvânia. Formou-se em letras em Harvard. Em 1903 se une ao irmão Leo na Europa e ambos passam a morar em Paris. Em 1905 conhece Picasso e passa a ajudá-lo em sua carreira artística. Em 1907 conhece Alice B. Toklas: dois anos depois Alice passa a morar na casa dos irmãos Stein. Em 1909 Gertrude Stein publica seu primeiro livro Three Lives. Em 1925 pública The Making of Americans, e em 1933 A Autobiografia de Alice B. Toklas (2009). Gertrude Stein faleceu em 1946.
