Sinopse

Children have been one of Nan Goldin’s ongoing photographic subjects, and they have provided some of her most moving and intimate works. Eden and After presents her selection of just some of these photographs, which include portraits of the children of Nan’s close friends. Through these unique portraits, Nan presents a complex investigation of childhood. Some photographs depict children alone, others show them in familial and social groups. From pregnancy and newborns through to teenagers, some subjects have been documented by Nan through their entire lives. The portraits capture children in their vastly changing emotional states, from lonely and introverted to their most exuberant, literally flying through the air.
