Sinopse

Ayelet Waldman nasceu em Jerusalém, em 1964. Estudou direito em Harvard, onde foi colega de sala de Barack Obama, candidato que apoiaria durante as eleições de 2008. Em 1997, começou a escrever a série The Mommy-Track Mysteries, sobre uma dona de casa que, para combater o tédio, trabalha como detetive. Mãe de quatro filhos, a maternidade é um tema central em sua literatura, ainda que de modo controverso. Em 2005, publicou um artigo em que afirmou amar mais seu marido, o escritor Michael Chabon, que seus filhos. A relação inusitada entre mãe e filho compõe a trama de As coisas impossíveis do amor, adaptação cinematográfica de seu romance homônimo, protagonizada por Natalie Portman. Em 2009, publicou Bad Mother: A Chronicle of Maternal Crimes, Minor Calamities and Occasional Moments of Grace, uma compilação de seus artigos. Seu romance Amor e memória (2014), conecta três histórias marcadas por um medalhão perdido durante a Segunda Guerra Mundial.
