Paula Pimenta nasceu em Belo Horizonte (MG). Desde criança apresentou aptidão para a escrita e por esse motivo prestou vestibular para Jornalismo, embora tenha se transferido para Publicidade, curso no qual se formou. Sua carreira de escritora começou em 2001, com o lançamento do livro de poemas Confissão. Na mesma época, foi convidada para ser colunista do site Crônica do Dia, no qual escreveu por vários anos. Paula Pimenta ficou realmente conhecida do grande público em 2008, quando lançou Fazendo meu filme 1: a estreia de Fani. Em seguida vieram Fazendo meu filme 2: Fani na terra da rainha (2009) e Fazendo meu filme 3: o roteiro inesperado de Fani (2010). Em 2011, lançou uma nova série: Minha vida fora de série: 1ª temporada, sobre Priscila, uma garota apaixonada por séries de TV.
