MARK COECKELBERGH

Mark Coeckelbergh nasceu em 1975, em Leuven, na Bélgica. Graduou-se em Ciências Sociais em 1997 na Universidade de Leuven, onde obteve também, no mesmo ano, o mestrado em Ciências Políticas.Em 1999, concluiu o mestrado em Filosofia Social pela Universidade de East Anglia, no Reino Unido, e, em 2003, obteve o doutorado em Filosofia pela Universidade de Birmingham, também no Reino Unido. Publicou mais de quinze livros e diversos artigos no campo da filosofia da tecnologia, com ênfase na relação entre ética e tecnologias como a robótica e a inteligência artificial. Em Ética na inteligência artificial (Ubu/ Editora PUC-Rio, 2024), Coeckelbergh apresenta um panorama dos problemas éticos relacionados ao uso ostensivo de inteligências artificiais: desde narrativas influentes sobre o futuro dessas tecnologias, passando por questões filosóficas sobre a natureza e o futuro do ser humano, até preocupações sobre responsabilidade, privacidade e viés.
