This title features 20 treks in wild terrain that is challenging, awesome in scope and has very little infrastructure. The trek lengths start at close to 100km (60 miles) and demand a minimum of five days to complete, so for all of them meticulous planning and expert guidance is often necessary. These adventurous hikes traverse every continent, from the russet hues of Alaska's autumn forests, along the spine of the Rockies from Canada to Mexico, through South America's remote, uninhabited mountains and valleys, to the craggy heights of Europe's Alpine region, across sacred Himalayan peaks and over the jagged escarpments of Africa and Australia's coastal tropical rainforest.
