Brian Greene's The Fabric of the Cosmos with its questions about the limits of space and time and the texture of reality certainly looks a bit daunting to the uninitiated. But enormous advances in understanding have been made especially over the last few decades. Brian Greene nasceu em Nova York, em 1963. Graduou-se em física na Universidade Harvad e obteve seu doutorado em Oxford com uma tese sobre a teroai das cordas. Foi professor da Universidade Cornell entre 1990 e 1996 e atualmente leciona na Universidade Columbia, onde é codiretor do Institute for String, Cosmology, and Astroparticle Physics (ISCAP).
