É conhecido principalmente por seus livros infantis, entre os quais figuram A Fantástica Fábrica de Chocolate, O Crocodilo Enorme, A incrível História de Henry Sugar e outros contos, Matilda, As Bruxas e James e o Pêssego Gigante. Roald Dahl morreu em 1990, aos setenta anos.
