At once a love story, an elegy, and an urgent plea, Deaf Republic confronts our time's vicious atrocities and our collective silence in the face of them.

Ilya Kaminsky nasceu em Odessa, antiga União Soviética, em 1977, e exilou-se com a família nos Estados Unidos, em 1985, onde vive até hoje. Foi finalista no National Book Award e venceu o Nationa lJewish Book Award e Los Angeles Book Prize. Seu livro República Surda foi eleito o Livro do ano pelo New York Times.
