Andrés Neuman nasceu em 1977, em Buenos Aires, e foi um dos vinte autores incluídos na edição especial da revista Granta sobre os “Melhores Jovens Romancistas de Língua Espanhola”, em 2010. O escritor chileno Roberto Bolaño definiu o escritor como “um talento iluminado”. Seu primeiro romance a ser lançado no Brasil, O viajante do século, foi selecionado pelos jornais El País e El Mundo como um dos cinco melhores em língua espanhola de 2009. Nele, Neuman discute questões políticas, sociais e literárias do século XIX de forma inusitada: por intermédio do olhar de um observador do século XXI.
