CLARICE LISPECTOR

Clarice Lispector (1925-1977) passou a infância em Recife e em 1937 mudou-se para o Rio de Janeiro, onde se formou em direito. Estreou na literatura ainda muito jovem com o romance Perto do Coração Selvagem (1943), que teve calorosa acolhida da crítica e recebeu o Prêmio Graça Aranha. Entre suas obras mais importantes estão as reuniões de contos A Legião Estrangeira (1964) e Laços de Família (1972) e os romances A Paixão Segundo G.H. (1964) e A Hora da Estrela (1977).
Clarice Lispector começou a colaborar na imprensa em 1942 e, ao longo de toda a vida, nunca se desvinculou totalmente do jornalismo. Trabalhou na Agência Nacional e nos jornais A Noite e Diário da Noite. Foi colunista do Correio da Manhã e realizou diversas entrevistas para a revista Manchete. A autora também foi cronista do Jornal do Brasil. Produzidos entre 1967 e 1973, esses textos estão reunidos no volume A Descoberta do Mundo.
