Sinopse

Maxi — a middle-class, directionless ox of a young man who helps the trash pickers of Buenos Aires’s shantytown — attracts the attention of a corrupt, trigger-happy policeman who will use anyone (including two innocent teenage girls) to break a drug ring that he believes is operating within the slum. Nascido em Pringles, Argentina, em 1949, César Aira é romancista, dramaturgo, tradutor e crítico literário. Seu primeiro romance, Moreira, apareceu em 1975, e desde então publicou mais de sessenta volumes, entre romances, contos, teatro e ensaios. Sua obra é traduzida em todo o mundo, incluindo França, Estados Unidos, Rússia, Itália e México. Aira é também professor universitário em Buenos Aires, onde vive e escreve pelo menos dois livros por ano.
