Line is an essential element in twentieth-century sculpture, and among the first to creatively explore the interpretation of figure through a single line was Auguste Rodin, whose 1893 bronzework L’Éternelle Idole is among the modernist masterpieces in the first-rate art collection of Elizabeth and Alexander Kasser.
